Campbell Utilities achieve Safetcert Accreditation
Safe work practices are always a priority for the staff and management of Campbell Utilities and there is no better way than to demonstrate that than to work toward and achieve a third party accredited health and safety scheme – which Campbell Utilities did in March this year.
Safe-T-Cert is a third party accredited health and safety scheme developed jointly by the Construction Employers Federation in Belfast and the Construction Industry Federation in Dublin.
It was developed from the 18001/2 documentation but enhanced specifically for the construction industry. It is based on ‘best practice’ requirements for international and national bodies, including ILO guidelines.
Safe-T-Cert is recognised under the ‘Buildsafe’ initiative in Northern Ireland and the ‘Construction Safety Partnership’ in the Republic of Ireland. Sate-T-Cert is also a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP).
Next on the agenda for Campbell Utilities is the achievement of NVIR-O-CERT, the construction-specific Environmental Management System. NVIR-O-CERT has been developed by the Construction Employers Federation (CEF) and is supported by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and the leading environmental professional body, the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
The scheme provides a route for smaller construction companies to achieve environmental accreditation whilst helping larger companies to distinguish themselves as environmental leaders.
