Flood Alleviation project successfully delivered by Campbell Utilities in Knocktemple, Cavan

Working for Consulting Engineers CS Pringle, the Knocktemple Flood Alleviation project included storm drainage, car park re-surfacing, street lighting, football pitch and general event space construction, gravel footpath construction, creation of a new road entrance, street furniture installation and landscaping.

Works were overseen by our experienced project engineer and foreman who was on site at all times to ensure highest quality standards were maintained.  Due to the fact that some of this scheme took place within school grounds, the programme was formulated so that works took place during the summer holidays and outside school hours to reduce disruption to the day to day running of the school and allowed the football pitch to be sowed out early in the contract so that grass was established before the onset of winter.

An experienced Contracts Manager identified key aspects of the job where value engineering proposals existed and where savings could be passed on to the client.  As a result of these the client was able to save money in certain areas which could be re-allocated to widen the scope of the scheme.
